Another adventure in infant diapering guest post - this one from Jessica (dramaticmama on twitter) who is a first time mommy to a brand new gorgeous boy. Here she shares some funny stories on her first experience with diapers and how she found them to be:
*---------------------------------------*
My name is Jessica, I am a new mom and my baby boy is just over a month
old. While pregnant, I contemplated using cloth to disposable diapers.
Since I hadn't ever changed a diaper before and I was scared of poop,
pee and didn't know how my stomach could handle cleaning a cloth diaper,
I decided to use disposable ones.
I love them (even though I don't like the price and how they are not green). They are easy to change, and when Dustin goes to the bathroom and it goes up his back, out the sides and all over the place, I just throw the diaper out and I am done. No cleaning and washing.
I have been a parent for just over a month, and have 2 funny stories that stand out in my head.

I have been a parent for just over a month, and have 2 funny stories that stand out in my head.
The
first one was when Calvin (my boyfriend) got home from work one night,
he grabbed Dustin and started bouncing him on his knee because Calvin's
dad had told him that that's how he got Calvin to burp when he was a
baby. So Calvin was bouncing Dustin, and our son farts all the time.
Doesn't burp too much but is a huge farting machine. So Dustin was
farting and Calvin thought nothing of it (yeah, you can probably tell
where this is going). Well Calvin was cooking a pizza, so he handed
Dustin back to me and I noticed that Dustin had poop like oozing out
from the sides of his diaper. I started gagging. I yelled for Calvin and
asked if he did that on purpose (handing me Dustin to deal with the
poop), he looked at me funny then I showed him. He checked his pants and
sure enough, Dustin had a "poopsplosion" on daddy's lap. We both
started laughing so hard that I just sat there holding Dustin under the
arms. Then I passed Dustin back to Calvin, and he changed his bum.
The
second funny story (for everyone else, not so much for me) happened
while I was at my parents house. It was late (well I guess early?)
around 3am and Dustin was getting fussy laying in his chair alone, so
instead of listening to him cry I picked him up and let him sleep with
me. We woke up around 7am and Dustin was fussy I knew I had to change
him so I get up and grab him to find, the diaper had leaked and he
pooped all in his sleeper (like I am talking another diaper full!), it
was on the couch, on his chair (from when I moved him 4 hours earlier),
all over my blanket then when I put him on the floor, yeah, all over the
floor as well. For some reason when that happens I freeze and go
completely dumb. What do I do? How do I clean this huge poopy mess up by
myself? Although I get it done, through the gags (it smelled HORRID).
Diapers aren't as bad as I thought they would be, however that because for me? I can just throw them out, I don't need to wash them.
